A Perfect Performance For Paterson At Lingfield

After winning very easily on debut for the yard just over a year ago A Perfect Day picked up a little injury preventing from running again last season.
He made a most pleasing return at Chepstow just over 3 weeks ago finishing a staying on 3rd. We were very confident he would take a massive step forward as he wasn’t over trained for his reappearance and he certainly did.
The step up to 2mile 7f was never going to be an issue and under a smooth uncomplicated ride from Toby McCain-Mitchell he quickened up turning in and soon had the race in complete control scoring by a cosy 4 lengths.
We purchased A Perfect Day from Cheltenham sales 18 months ago having finished 2nd on his only PtP start. The form of the PtP has had several boasts, notable the winner having already won over hurdles in Ireland and the 3rd is a certain Conman John trained by Lucinda Russell who won a novice hurdle at Cheltenham and was beaten a neck in a grade 2 on Saturday.
We have some lofty targets later in the season for this chap but it’s one step at a time for now.
