End of year round up!

We’ve been very satisfied with how the winter horses have been running since they started at the end of October. 6 winners and operating at a 20% strike rate since October 1st, but even so we’ve still had our fair share of frustrations.

The highlight has been unearthing 3 promising 4 year olds in The Flaggy Shore, Barrow Hill Lad and Secret Des Lune. The Flaggy Shore bolted up looking the real deal in a 12 runner Warwick mares bumper and she will now head to Market Rasen mid January for a mares listed bumper. Barrow Hill Lad won very comfortably in a soft ground Ffos Las bumper in October and looks a lovely staying prospect for the future. He ran massively below par in a listed bumper at Ascot last week but the reasons why came to light immediately after. Secret Des Lune ran a superb race on debut in a competitive looking 12 runner bumper at Plumpton to finish 2nd just getting out stayed in the last 100 yards by a more experienced older mare. She looks to have a nice future.

Good Friday Fairy notched his 6th career win on seasonal reappearance and will be seen out again within the next 2 weeks. Ri Na Cuirte put in a game effort when virtually making all to win at Exeter, he’s a horse who is best fresh so is having a little bit of time before being seen out again. El Bandido Pancho has continued his progression from last season, winning on seasonal reappearance and finishing runner up on his next 2 starts. He will continue to progress before heading over fences shortly. A Perfect Day won very comfortably last week at Lingfield and is a horse to very much follow. Game Colours ran a cracker at Cheltenham finishing a staying on 3rd beaten under 4 lengths and Cast’s Tasha ran a mighty race after 300 days off just being beaten in a photo at Leicester.

However, as always a few runs have left us a little frustrated with various things that have needed tweaking. Here’s a few other horses to keep a look out for through the rest of the season who we feel haven’t quite been able to show there best. Risk De Pluie is a horse I have always thought plenty of and made a pleasing reappearance finishing 2nd at Lingfield on his first step up to 2mile 6f. He ran a couple of weeks ago at Cheltenham but draw a line through that and follow his progress as you’ll see a different version of him next time. Storm Cracker went off favourite for the 3 year old bumper at Newbury last week but everything you can think of went wrong. They crawled for a mile and a quarter then sprinted. She was too keen and then was caught at the rear of a sprint. A few other things have come to light with her since as well. I think she’s a very nice filly to follow. Ooh Betty has almost been forgotten about after an underwhelming start to her campaign but don’t write her off, we haven’t! She needed the run after missing a bit of time for her wind op for her first run at Ascot against a lot of race fit rivals. She ran well below par at Taunton last time but we no why so we should see a big leap forward next time. She’s as good as ever at home and I’m confident you will see the old Ooh Betty next time.

A huge thankyou to all of my owners who have supported us throughout 2025. We look forward to a successful, fun and healthy 2026.

The team of staff at home continue to do a great job and are being rewarded with some very good results on the track.

We have no runners until New Year’s Day so an unusually quiet Christmas period awaits before a busy first half of January. Bit of turkey, bread sauce and a few presents then we’ll be itching to get 2026 off to a flyer with some nice horses lined up to run!

A big thank you to everyone who supports us.
