A Secret No More!

Secret Des Lune had done little wrong in her first 2 starts, finishing 2nd on debut and then filling the runner up spot on heavy ground on her next run. But back on better ground under a determined Sam Twiston-Davies she was not going to be denied in the bumper at Plumpton yesterday. Popping out in front setting even fractions, then finding enough in reserve to fend off the Gary Moore trained odds on favourite by 1/2 a length. Secret stays well, is straightforward and has a terrific will to win attitude which will give owner Gill Langford lots of fun days with her in the future. We will likely wait now until May for a mares maiden hurdle before putting her out for a summers grass.
To make Secret’s success even better it was Millie Stoneman’s first winner leading up and she also won best turned out. Something she will remember for a long time.
Secret’s success also marked our 50th national hunt winner. This is an achievement I’m very proud of and is a result of a good team getting the best out of the horses. We’re always striving to do better, get more horses and improve the quality. Here’s to the next 50!
