Barrow Hill Lad Glides To Debut Success

Barrow Hill Lad made a winning racecourse debut at Ffos Las on Tuesday in the conditional jockeys 2 mile bumper in the hands of Toby McCain-Mitchell for owners Octavians IV.
He is a horse who arrived unbroken 18 months ago as a 3 year old store and from day 1 we were excited by what he was showing us.
He raced just behind the leaders, travelled powerfully throughout the race before taking it up with 2 furlongs to run and once Toby asked him to length away he did so with ease.
As he’s a young 4 year old who’s still quite raw, we will stick to bumpers this season before going novice hurdling as an autumn 5 year old where I think he could progress into a very useful type.
Although we have had very few runners since May, the team at home have been incredibly busy preparing our winter team of horses for action.
With entries at Ascot on Saturday and beyond we are very excited to get our season into full swing.
Good luck to all our owners and our team for the season ahead!
