Grade 2 3rd for Ooh Betty

With the team being in indifferent form due to a few of the horses being under the weather, it was a welcome tonic to see Ooh Betty run a cracker under Joe Anderson in the Grade 2 mares novice handicap hurdle at Newbury.

With underfoot conditions not being optimum, we took our time with her, dropped her in and crept into the race up the home straight. Joe executed the plan perfectly and had enough in reserve to see off Larchment Lass to finish 3rd. Finishing 3rd in a grade 2 also secured Betty valuable black type for her breeding days in a few years time.

Ooh Betty has given her connections some great days this season, winning 3, finishing 2nd in a photo finish in a valuable class 2 novice and a further 3 placings. She’ll now head to Cheltenham next month to round off what has been a great season for her.
